Bubble Tea (Simplified Chinese: 珍珠奶茶; also 波霸奶茶; Pinyin: Zhēnzhū nǎichá), also called pearl milk tea or boba, is a sweet tea drink typically mixed with milk or creamer and chewy tapioca pearls. It originated in Taiwan tea-shop culture and became a global Chinese and Asian drink-shop staple.[1]
Characteristics
Drinks range from classic black-tea milk with pearls to fruit teas, cheese foams, and jelly toppings. Sweetness and ice levels are customized; the chew of pearls is central to the 'bubble' idea.
